Matisse Software Delivers SQL Parallel Processing in Collaboration with Intel®.

Mountain View, CA - December 7, 2009 – Matisse Software today announces the immediate availability of Matisse 8.3 with a new SQL Parallel Processing Engine designed for delivering maximum performance on Intel® multi-cores processors from notebooks and desktop computers to workstations and high-end servers.

Multi-core architecture has become a standard in modern processor platforms making processing power more affordable and widely available. With the support provided by the Intel® Software Partner Program, Matisse Software has designed a powerful SQL parallel processing engine that can fully take advantage of multi-core processor architectures. Designed from the ground up to deliver peak parallel performance, the SQL parallel processing engine distributes seamlessly the work of heavy computational tasks across idle processing cores.

“Databases today, irrespective of the domain of applications, contain a wealth of information. However, finding and presenting the right information in a timely fashion can be a challenge because of the vast quantity of highly inter-connected data involved;” said Didier Cabannes, President and CEO of Matisse Software. “We are proud to bring to the market today Matisse SQL parallel processing engine, an essential database building block to address this challenge.”

Matisse 8.3 offers an unequaled value proposition to .NET, Java and C++ developers alike who require high performance on complex data.

Some of the specific advantages of Matisse 8.3 include:

  • Reduced application complexity with direct object-to-object mapping.
  • Simplified and accelerated development through the fusion of native object support and SQL.
  • Full remote administration of distributed Matisse database servers on a local network.
  • Significantly improved throughput and no logging burden with a unique versioning engine
  • No schema modification downtime with dynamic schema evolution.
  • 24x7 proven high availability through data replication with database mirroring and fault-tolerant database server.
  • Support for virtually all object languages with extensive language bindings and an open API.

Matisse 8.3 supports the popular platforms with Windows, Linux, Java and .NET frameworks, SQL and XML standards, and a broad range of language bindings including Java, C++, C, C#, VB.NET, Python, Perl, PHP and Eiffel. Most language bindings are published as open source software.
